Security forces successfully neutralised 43 terrorists during intelligence-based operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan over the last 48 hours.
According to the press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the troops conducted an operation in Lakki Marwat district of KP on the night of December 12-13 . Six terrorists were effectively targeted at a khwarij location.
The ISPR also disclosed that 18 terrorists were killed in KP between December 9 and December 24. In Balochistan, security forces neutralised ten terrorists in two operations conducted on 13 December in Musa Khel and Panjgur districts. From December 9 to 13, a total of 25 terrorists were killed in Balochistan.
"Intelligence-based operations will continue till peace is restored and the menace of terrorism is eradicated," said ISPR. The statement reaffirmed the determination of Pakistan’s security forces to eliminate terrorism across the country.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their successful operations. "The entire nation is thankful to the security forces for their vigilance and sacrifices for the defence of the motherland," stated the President.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to eradicate terrorism. "The determination of our Army is a source of pride for the nation," he stated.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi also lauded the forces for foiling terrorist designs in KPK and Balochistan. He expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by troops and prayed for their continued success.
