The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has declared former federal ministers Hammad Azhar, Murad Saeed, and other prominent members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) proclaimed offenders in the May 9 arson and siege case.
Judge Arshad Javed presided over the hearing and accepted the police's request to declare multiple accused, including Mian Aslam Iqbal, Wasiq Qayyum, Zubair Khan Niazi, Hamid Gilani, and Raees, as proclaimed offenders. The court also issued permanent arrest warrants against the accused, intensifying efforts to bring them to justice.
The case pertains to the burning of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) office during the violent protests on May 9, 2023, triggered by political unrest. According to the police, the accused have been evading arrest, citing fears of being taken into custody.
