Pakistan has reiterated its strong stance on Syria’s sovereignty, emphasizing that no external power has the right to decide the future of the Syrian people.
In a weekly briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch affirmed Pakistan’s full support for Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, stating that any form of governance in Syria should align with the aspirations of its people.
"No external force has the right to determine the future of Syria," Baloch emphasized.
She also condemned Israel’s actions in Palestinian territories, urging the international community to hold Israel accountable for its alleged war crimes.
Pakistan’s position on Syria’s sovereignty comes at a time of heightened tensions, with ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza. Baloch also called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, underlining the importance of humanitarian relief for the Palestinian people.
Pakistan to Attend D-8 Summit in Cairo
Regarding Pakistan’s international engagements, Baloch announced that Pakistan will attend the D-8 summit in Cairo, expressing full support for the conference's agenda. She also extended condolences on the death of Khalil Rehman Haqqani, a prominent figure in Afghanistan, and condemned all acts of terrorism. Pakistan is in contact with Afghan authorities to gather details about the incident.
Condemnation of Indian Aggression in Kashmir
Foreign Office spokesperson also strongly condemned India's ongoing human rights abuses in the occupied Kashmir region, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination.
Pakistan continues to call for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
No Knowledge of US Inauguration Invitation
Regarding US diplomatic matters, Baloch stated that Pakistan was not aware of any invitation extended to the Prime Minister for the US presidential inauguration.
Pakistan remains committed to advocating for the rights of oppressed peoples worldwide, while condemning acts of aggression and violence wherever they occur.
