Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah made serious allegations against former ISI chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed during his appearance on the talk show 'Nadeem Malik Live'.
Sanaullah accused Hameed of abusing his position for personal and political gain, accusing him of being involved in actions ranging from coercion to interference in state matters.
According to Rana Sanaullah, Faiz Hameed's brother, Najaf, partnered with a housing society and allegedly sought to take full control of it. Hameed reportedly threatened the society's other owner, had him arrested under terrorism charges, and referred him to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) as a terrorist.
Sanaullah revealed that the Ministry of Defence had been directed by former chief justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa to investigate the matter following complaints.
Sanaullah also mentioned that Hameed was involved in managing the issue of audio leaks from the Prime Minister’s Office during both the previous and PDM governments. He alleged that a person stationed in the Prime Minister’s House had been leaking audio recordings of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and others to Faiz Hameed for a long time.

"The person involved in the audio leaks of Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz was posted in the Prime Minister's House. That person had been doing this work in the Prime Minister's House for a long time," he alleged, adding that those things were also shared with the former ISI chief.
He recalled that Faiz Hameed used to say that they were responsible for giving someone respect or not, while the intelligence agency conducted its own inquiry and everything came to light.
Furthermore, Rana Sanaullah claimed that Faiz Hameed managed a “heroin case” against him, and the matter was brought to the knowledge of the then army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa. "The PTI founder wanted me implicated in the heroin case," he alleged.
He alleged that Hameed manipulated the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to frame him and then a lower-level team filed a case on him.
On the show, Rana Sana alleged that PTI Founder Imran Khan made the issue of extension and appointment of the army chief controversial. The PTI founder first suggested General Bajwa be given a six-month extension, he further said, adding that the former PM later wanted to appoint an army chief of his choice.
The former minister said the PTI founder wanted to propose a specific individual for the army chief and stop someone's appointment, adding that Imran held a violent long march to stop someone's appointment. "It is said that the violent long march was orchestrated by Faiz Hameed. All the violent incidents culminated on May 9 under the guidance of the former ISI chief," Rana Sanaullah claimed.
"Evidence was being collected of what Faiz Hameed kept doing," he disclosed.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that proceedings under the Pakistan Army Act against Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed commenced on August 12, 2024, through a Field General Court Martial. In the next phase now, Faiz Hameed has been formally charged.
The charges include involvement in political activities, violations of the Official Secrets Act, compromising state security and interests, misuse of authority and government resources and causing undue harm to individuals.
Additionally, a separate investigation is underway to probe the former intelligence chief's alleged involvement in violent and disruptive incidents linked to unrest in the country, including those related to the events of May 9.
