The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported dry and cold weather in most parts of the country on Wednesday, with northern regions experiencing extreme cold.
According to details, Layyah recorded the lowest temperature of minus 9°C, followed by Skardu at minus 5°C, Kalam at minus 4°C, and Hunza at minus 2°C.
Dense fog was forecast for plains of Punjab and upper Sindh, potentially affecting visibility in these areas.

Karachi experienced increased chill due to cold winds from Quetta, with a wind speed of 10 km/h.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 21°C and humidity of 98%. The mercury is expected to drop to 16°C at night.
In Lahore, a morning drizzle intensified the cold, bringing some relief from air pollution as the air quality index showed improvement.
The city’s school timings were adjusted, with institutions instructed to open no earlier than 8:15 am.
Punjab’s environmental department warned of action against violations.
