The Islamabad High Court has restrained the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from taking action against its former director general (DG) Shahzad Saleem.
It has been revealed that an inquiry has been started in the NAB against its former DG Shahzad Saleem and a charge sheet was issued to him by the NAB chairman, which he challenged in the Islamabad High Court.
On Tuesday, Justice Arbab Tahir of the Islamabad High Court heard Shahzad's petition and restrained NAB from taking action against him. The court has also issued a notice to the bureau and sought a response on December 16.
The court ordered the NAB against taking any action against Shahzad Saleem until the petition is decided. It has also sought a complete inquiry report and para-wise comments from NAB.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer said that the accountability bureau had already conducted an inquiry into this case earlier, which had ended, and there were also orders from the Supreme Court in this regard.
The petitioner’s lawyer said that it is against the rules to start a new inquiry and issue a charge sheet.
