Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology led by Chairperson Palwasha Khan will meet on December 5 to deliberate on the ongoing internet crisis affecting the country.
The agenda includes reviewing the persistent slowness of internet services and evaluating the financial losses incurred by the IT sector over the past six months. The Ministry of IT will present a detailed briefing on the sector's challenges during this period.
The committee will also consider a petition submitted by the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), emphasizing industry concerns. Additionally, the Secretary of the Ministry of IT is expected to provide updates on the ministry’s budget, expenditures, and the status of its contract employees.
National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) will also deliver a performance report to the committee. The meeting aims to address the pressing issues in the IT sector and propose effective solutions to overcome them.
