K-Electric has initiated disconnecting electricity to Pakistan Railways due to non-payment of outstanding bills.
According to a K-Electric spokesperson, the decision was made as continuing power supply without payment is no longer feasible. Pakistan Railways reportedly owes K-Electric Rs. 430 million across 31 electricity connections.
"Pakistan Railways must immediately clear its dues for power restoration," the spokesperson stated, adding that multiple reminders and notices had been issued before the disconnection.
Despite repeated assurances from Pakistan Railways officials regarding payment, the dues remain unpaid, forcing K-Electric to take this action. The utility has emphasized that an uninterrupted power supply is impossible without settling pending bills.
