The Chinese government has announced the 2025-26 scholarships program for students from Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to pursue studies and research at Chinese universities.
Application process, deadlines:
- Deadline: Applications must be submitted online by Monday, December 9.
- Eligibility: Applicants must possess valid HAT (obtained on or after December 9, 2022) or USAT scores (obtained on or after December 9, 2023) with a minimum score of 50 out of 100.
- HEC Application Portal: Apply online at scholarship.hec.gov.pk under the "Learning Opportunities Abroad" section. Print and sign the submitted application.
- CSC Portal: Submit an application under Category A (Agency No. 5861) at campuschina.org.
Scholarship overview
The program, facilitated by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and supported by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, allows Pakistani students to study undergraduate, master’s, or PhD programs in their respective fields.
Eligibility criteria
- Nationality: Applicants must be Pakistani/AJK nationals. Dual nationality holders are ineligible.
- Health: Applicants must be in good health.
- Education Levels & Age Limits:
- Undergraduate/Bachelor: Intermediate/A-levels (12 years of education); under 25 years.
- Master’s: Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education); under 35 years.
- PhD: Master’s degree (MS/MPhil); under 40 years.
- Applicants must meet the academic and language requirements of the chosen Chinese university.
- Applicants cannot hold other scholarships concurrently.
Scholarship benefits
- Tuition Fee: Covers education, administration, health insurance, and student activities.
- Accommodation: Free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy.
- Stipend: Provided as per Chinese Government Scholarship policy.
- Travel Expenses: To be borne by the applicants.
