Air travellers faced significant disturbance on Friday as seven flights were cancelled, and 30 others delayed at airports across Pakistan due to operational issues.
The seven flights cancelled were set to depart from Karachi for Lahore, Quetta, Multan and Islamabad, while 30 flights were delayed at different airports.
In Karachi, two Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Lahore, PK-303 and PK-341, were cancelled, alongside two flights to Quetta, PK-310 and PK-311. Additionally, flights PK-330 to Multan and PK-370 to Islamabad were also cancelled.
Another PIA flight, PK-204, scheduled to depart from Lahore to Dubai, was also grounded.
Delays were reported for domestic and international routes, affecting passengers across several cities:
- Faisalabad to Karachi: Flight PK-340 was delayed by one hour, rescheduled to depart at 2:15pm.
- Karachi to Islamabad: Flights ER-505 and ER-503 faced delays.
- Lahore arrivals: Flights from Muscat, Bahrain, and Sharjah got late.
- Lahore departures: Flights to Jeddah, Bahrain, and Dubai delayed.
- Multan flights: Arrivals and departures from Doha, Medina, and Dammam were delayed.
- Islamabad flights: Delays impacted arrivals from Sharjah, Dammam, and Riyadh, as well as three departures to Dubai and Riyadh.
- Peshawar flights: Five outbound flights to Sharjah, Doha, and Dubai were delayed.
The disruptions have left passengers stranded at various airports, causing inconvenience for those with pressing travel schedules.
