The Balochistan government has enforced Section 144 across the province, citing concerns over the prevailing law and order situation.
The directive, issued by the Home Department, imposes a complete ban on carrying weapons and gatherings of more than five people.
According to the notification, stringent measures will be taken to prevent any illegal assemblies and to curb the use of firearms during the enforcement of Section 144.
Meanwhile, the imposition of Section 144 in Balochistan follows a similar measure taken in Punjab, where the provincial government enforced the ban for three days starting November 23.
The Punjab Home Department’s notification cited the need to maintain public order and safeguard lives and property. All protests, rallies, processions, sit-ins, and political activities have been prohibited during this period.
