Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi said on Thursday that it is up to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold talks with the government.
Speaking to media in Islamabad, Naqvi said, “One delegation is making its way from Belarus on November 24. It is the government’s topmost priority to provide security to the delegation coming from Belarus.”
“We cannot give permission of staging any type of gatherings currently. We have started preparations in this regard,” he said.
Naqvi stated, “But negotiations cannot be held as long as it [PTI] continues to give threats to the government.”
He lamented the law and order situation in the country, saying, “Every day an untoward incident is happening. Now 38 people embraced martyrdom in Kurram.”
Naqvi vowed to provide full support to the KP government.
“It would be better for the PTI to stage a protest in its own province, as there is no permission for the party to stage a protest there,” he stated.
