Liam Payne's funeral was held in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, northwest of London. New photos show his former One Direction bandmates -- Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik -- attending the solemn ceremony.
Harry arrived at the church in a BMW alongside his friend and TV personality James Corden, heading directly inside. Zayn, dressed in black, also joined his former bandmates. Louis appeared visibly distressed, clutching the order of service. X Factor judge Simon Cowell attended with his fiancée, Lauren Silverman. Liam's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and his former partner Cheryl, with whom he shared a son, were also present.
Liam's coffin was brought to the church in a white horse-drawn carriage. The hearse carried floral tributes with heartfelt messages, including the words “son” and “daddy.”
One Direction shared a joint statement, signed by all four members, expressing their grief: “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.”
Liam's death was determined to be due to multiple injuries sustained in a fall, with a preliminary toxicology report indicating the presence of substances. At the time of his passing, Liam had travelled to South America to support Niall during his tour for his third studio album, 'The Show'.
