Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat expressed disappointment over his party’s performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Speaking during a visit to Union Council Nimbal in Abbottabad, he acknowledged that while the PTI had been given the public’s trust for a third term, its delivery was far from satisfactory.
Marwat remarked that the people of KP voted for PTI in the name of its founder Imran Khan, not based on the party's performance. “If they had voted on performance, the PTI government would never have been formed. Our performance was not something to be proud of. In fact, we didn’t even avoid the criticism we are receiving now,” he admitted.
Marwat stressed that after being in power in KP for the past decade, the party must now deliver results to honour the people’s trust. “PTI has been in power in KP for the last 10 years. Many chief ministers have been elected from here, but looking at this area, it is disheartening. We must own past failures,” he emphasized.
Highlighting the lack of progress in Abottabad's Circle Bakote area, Marwat criticized the absence of development in the region, saying the PTI founder's vision was nowhere to be seen here. He also expressed disappointed with the performance of his own party's elected representatives from the region.
