Pakistan's information technology sector has achieved a significant milestone, recording exports worth $1.2 billion during the first four months of the current fiscal year, marking a 34% increase compared to the previous period.
According to State Bank data, October saw IT exports reaching $330 million, showing a 13% growth from September's figures. The digital services sector has maintained a steady performance, averaging monthly exports of $290 million over the past twelve months.
The surge in exports has been accompanied by Pakistani tech companies expanding their global client base. The Ministry of IT and Pakistan Software Export Board's initiatives have played a crucial role in facilitating this growth trajectory.
Economic analysts project this positive trend in the technology sector's export performance to continue throughout fiscal year 2025, reinforcing Pakistan's position in the global digital services market.
