Namaz-e-Istaqa, a special prayer for rain, was performed across Pakistan on Friday amid persistent smog affecting large parts of the country.
At the historic Badshahi Mosque, Khatib Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad led the prayer following Friday prayers. A large number of worshippers participated, collectively praying for an end to the smog and for rainfall to alleviate the hazardous conditions.
In the federal capital, Namaz-e-Istaqa was organized at the Kohsar Block on the instructions of Prime Minister. Special prayers were offered, with federal and provincial authorities directed to hold similar congregations across the country.
