Sindh High Court Bar Association has postponed its annual elections, now set for December 7 instead of the previously scheduled November 23.
The decision comes after Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, declined to oversee the election process, despite a request from the Bar Secretary for judicial supervision.
Following the Chief Justice's refusal, the bar association also appointed a new Election Commissioner. Former Chairman of the Bar Council, Zulfiqar Jalbani, has now been assigned to manage the election proceedings.
The Sindh High Court Bar’s leadership emphasized that the change aims to ensure a fair and orderly election, while members prepare for the revised polling date in December.
