A suicide bomber detonated his explosives near a police mobile van in Charsadda on Thursday morning, however the police personnel and the vehicle remained unscathed.
The motorcycle-borne suicide bomber targeted the police mobile on patrol on Harichand Road near the Akhun Dheri area within Umarzai police station limits. Fortunately, the blast did not cause any harm to the police personnel or their vehicle.
There was no loss of life due to the explosion, as there was no traffic on the road at that time.
The suicide bomber blew himself up on seeing the police van, but the impact of the explosion could not reach the vehicle. The explosion’s sound echoed across the area, and a heavy police contingent quickly reached the spot.
The security personnel surrounded the area and started searching for any suspects. The police seized the body and motorcycle of the alleged suicide bomber and started an investigation.
