Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas, widely recognized for hits like 'Illegal Weapon,' 'Muskan,' and contributions to songs like 'Yaar Na Miley' from the movie 'Kick' starring Salman Khan and Daisy Shah, as well as 'Illegal Weapon 2.0' from 'Street Dancer 3D,' recently arrived in India for an upcoming show.
However, her visit took a disturbing turn as she allegedly received death threats.
Reports indicate that Jasmine Sandlas has been targeted with death threats by individuals purportedly associated with the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who had previously claimed responsibility for the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala on May 29, 2022, and had also threatened Salman Khan.
According to NDTV, Jasmine Sandlas received these death threats shortly after her arrival at the Delhi airport. The threats are said to have come from international phone numbers.
The threats were specific, indicating a potential attack at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where she is scheduled to perform.
In response to the threats, security measures for Jasmine Sandlas have been heightened at her current five-star hotel in Delhi. Additionally, the Delhi police have stepped in to provide security coverage for the singer during her stay and performance.
Notably, Lawrence Bishnoi had previously expressed his intent to harm Salman Khan, stating that he would only abandon this mission if the actor apologized to the Bishnoi community for his alleged involvement in the killing of a blackbuck during the filming of 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in Jodhpur in 1998.
The tragic incident involving Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead by motorcycle-borne assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa, adds to the complex web of threats and violence within the Punjabi entertainment industry.
