Security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists - referred to as Khawarij - on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing four militants in two separate operations, the military’s media wing reported on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists attempted to infiltrate through North Waziristan, where security forces responded swiftly, killing two militants and injuring two others.
The ISPR added that another operation was carried out in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan based on intelligence, resulting in the death of two more terrorists during an exchange of fire.
The army confirmed that a clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. "Pakistan’s security forces remain steadfast in securing the nation’s borders and eradicating terrorism," ISPR emphasized.
