Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi said on Friday there is no chance of holding talks with India over changing venues for the forthcoming Champions Trophy.
Speaking to media following the brilliant victory clinched by Pakistan against Australia in the second ODI, Naqvi said: “The BCCI had not officially apprised the PCB of its status about the Champions Trophy.”
Rebuffing the Indian media reports, Naqvi said: “It has been about two months since the news was disseminated on the Indian media that India will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.”
“It would be better to keep the cricket away from politics,” said Naqvi.
The PCB chief had categorically said, “We have always shown a good attitude. But it would be better to not expect always a good attitude from us.”
“If India does not want to come to Pakistan, then they should write a letter to us,” he stated.
On the other hand, the Indian media continued to show stubbornness, claiming, “The BCCI had refused to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.”
According to the Indian media, the BCCI had insisted on playing on the neutral venue. “India will play their Champions Trophy’s games in Dubai,” claimed the reports.
