Pakistan national cricket team captain Babar Azam and management picked the playing XI for the match against Sri Lanka in the eighth match of the World Cup at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium tomorrow (Tuesday).
Sources divulged on Monday that the team meeting between Pakistan captain Babar Azam and management had ended. The inclusion of batter Abdullah Shafique was being considered on the basis of his decent performance in his last outing against Sri Lanka at Asia Cup.
Fakhar Zaman, who is having a rough patch with the bat, is likely to be dropped for the Sri Lanka match. Babar Azam and the management had stressed the need for picking up Abdullah Shafique’s tomorrow’s match.

The skipper and management urged the need to include Abdullah Shafique in the playing XI for his prowess in taking on the Sri Lankan bowlers.
