Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali gave “important” advice to Indian batters Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Pakistan former captain Babar Azam after their shortcomings in the recent outings.
Expressing his thoughts, Ali said: “Virat, Rohit and Babar need to perform and score a cluster of runs to ensure to get back to the top rankings in the red-ball format.”
“They need to score centuries; even 99 will not be enough as people want to see the trio performing,” he said.
Speaking about the forthcoming third Test match between India and New Zealand, Ali said: “India need to go with the seven batters, three all-rounders, and one fast bowler.”
“Maybe it would be better to give Jasprit Bumrah a rest ahead of the all-important series against Australia,” he stated.
