Religious scholars, seminary students, and political figures assembled in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, for a commemorative ceremony honoring the martyrs of October 1947. The event was organized as part of Kashmir Foundation Day observations.
Scholars from various schools of thought emphasized the importance of passing down the martyrs' legacy to younger generations. They stressed that religious scholars are the torchbearers of the nation's ideological foundation, asserting that no nation can remain united without ideological roots.
Former minister of Azad Kashmir government, Dr. Mustafa Bashir, addressed the gathering. Zahid Ameen, former chairman of the Prime Minister's Inspection Commission, noted historical attempts to diminish martyrs' sacrifices.
Maulana Arif Chishti, Khateeb of Jamia Mosque Chattar Klas, highlighted that the freedom movement originated from mosques and spiritual centers. Saira Chishti, president of Women's Association Azad Kashmir, expressed solidarity with Pakistan's armed forces, describing them as Kashmir's guardians.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Kashmir's martyrs.
