A sports gala took place at Umeed Special Education School in Peshawar, a specialized institution for children with disabilities, operated with support from the Pakistan Army. The event saw active participation from 90 special needs students from schools across Peshawar and Nowshera.
Competitions included cricket, badminton, and tug-of-war, with students enthusiastically engaging in each activity. Lieutenant General Umar Ahmed Bukhari, Corps Commander of Peshawar Corps, attended as the guest of honor. He, along with other attendees, praised the students’ performance, noting the impressive energy and enthusiasm displayed throughout the event.
The Umeed Special Education School currently educates 180 students, providing specialized support through a team of trained professionals. Students at the institution are offered a range of national and international courses designed to keep them up-to-date with modern educational standards.
The facility is equipped with resources tailored to the students' needs, including separate classrooms, an indoor and outdoor sports area, a physiotherapy room, hearing aids, a medical room, and fully air-conditioned classrooms. The school also provides psychological counseling, aiming to support each student comprehensively. At the conclusion of the sports gala, students were presented with gifts as tokens of appreciation.
