Security forces have seized over 1,053 metric tons of narcotics and arrested 2,107 drug traffickers in nationwide operations conducted since September 2023, according to official reports.
The ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, initiated jointly by the government and military leadership, has intensified efforts to combat drug trafficking across the country. In October alone, authorities confiscated 1,204.733 metric tons of various illegal substances and apprehended 49 suspects.
Recent operations resulted in the seizure of 1.502 kilograms of heroin, 708.17 kilograms of hashish, 71.205 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 144.6 kilograms of opium, along with 279.256 kilograms of other illicit substances.
Provincial breakdown of October's operations shows significant seizures across all regions: Balochistan (327 kg), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (205.87 kg), Gilgit-Baltistan (32.605 kg), Punjab (396.191 kg), and Sindh (243.067 kg).
Law enforcement agencies continue their coordinated efforts to eliminate drug trafficking networks throughout Pakistan. The operations demonstrate the authorities' commitment to addressing drug-related challenges and maintaining public safety.
