Apple is anticipated to host a launch event in October, where it may introduce the next generation of MacBook Pro and iMac devices.
In recent months, leaks surrounding the M4-powered Macs have provided glimpses of what could be unveiled, though the exact timing of the event and the full line-up of devices remains uncertain.
Following the recent release of Apple's latest iPads and iPhones, attention has shifted to the new Macs expected to debut before the close of 2024. Based on past trends, Apple’s October events typically focus on Macs and its Apple Silicon processors.
This year, the company is rumoured to unveil several devices, including new MacBook Pro models, iMacs, and an updated iPad Mini. Here's a look at what might be announced at the upcoming event:
M4 MacBook Pro
The new MacBook Pro models are expected to be available in two sizes, 14-inch and 16-inch, with minimal design changes compared to previous versions. Powered by M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips, and paired with 16GB of RAM, the new models are expected to deliver significant improvements, especially for AI-related tasks.

M4 iMac
Apple is also expected to refresh its iMac line-up with updated hardware. While the design may remain unchanged, the new iMacs are likely to be powered by M4 chipsets, boasting a 10-core CPU and offering up to a 25% performance boost over last year’s M3 models. These iMacs could also come with 16GB of RAM for better performance, especially in AI tasks, and may see upgrades to the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad.
iPad Mini 7
In addition to the MacBook Pro and iMac, Apple may introduce a new iPad Mini model. The iPad Mini 7 is rumoured to be powered by the A18 chipset, currently used in the iPhone 16. It could feature 8GB of RAM and storage options of 64GB and 128GB, along with new capabilities such as support for Apple Pencil Pro. The iPad Mini could also include enhanced Apple Intelligence features like the new Siri, Genmoji, and Image Playground.
M4 Mac Mini
Apple is also expected to launch a redesigned Mac Mini with updated specifications. The new Mac Mini could be powered by the M4 and M4 Pro chips, paired with 16GB of RAM, and may feature three new USB-C ports for improved connectivity.
These anticipated devices suggest that Apple's October event will highlight significant performance upgrades across its Mac line-up, with a focus on AI capabilities and enhanced hardware.
