In a series of tragic traffic accidents across Punjab, at least five people were killed, and numerous others injured.
In a devastating accident that occurred near the Kot Abdul Malik Interchange in Sheikhupura, five people were killed and 10 others injured when a bus overturned after colliding with a tree.
The injured were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Motorway police arrived quickly on the spot to commence rescue operations and investigate the circumstances of the accident.
Another collision took place near Faizpur on Motorway M2, where a bus travelling from Mansehra to Lahore lost control, leading to a crash that killed three people and injured eight others.
According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, the accident happened as the driver fell asleep behind the wheel. The injured were also taken to the hospital for urgent care.
In Liaquatpur, a collision between two motorcycles resulted in one death, according to rescue officials. The identity of the deceased was yet to be disclosed.
A separate incident occurred near Jaranwala, where a car collided with a tractor, killing a woman and injuring four others. The victims were en route from Lahore to Jaranwala when the crash occurred. Rescue teams rushed the deceased and the injured to the hospital.
In Bahawalnagar, a lorry collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of a young man and injuries to two women. Emergency services rushed the injured to the hospital for treatment.
Lastly, a collision on the national highway near Mithri between a car and a motorcycle led to one death, with three others, including two children, sustaining injuries. Rescue teams were dispatched to assist the victims.
