All forms of meetings in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail have been banned until October 18 due to security reasons.
This decision, taken by the Punjab government, applies to all inmates, including the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), according to jail sources.
The ban, imposed due to security concerns, will prevent any meetings between prisoners and their families, lawyers, or party leaders. PTI Founder Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated, will not be allowed to meet with his legal team, family or party officials during this period.
Jail sources have confirmed that the decision has been taken in connection with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, which has prompted the tightening of security measures in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. These precautions are being taken to ensure the safety and stability of the region amid the high-profile international event.
As per the ban, no inmate in Adiala Jail will be allowed to meet their families or legal representatives until the restriction is lifted after October 18.
