PIA’s flight PK-222 traveling from Dubai to Multan faced a serious issue when all the tires of the aircraft burst during takeoff.
A total of 172 passengers were safely transferred to the lounge following the incident.
According to a PIA spokesperson, while the flight was preparing for takeoff, a warning was received regarding an engine malfunction.
The skilled captain immediately deployed the emergency brake system, successfully halting the aircraft without any injuries.
To resolve the technical issue, engineering staff from Karachi will fly to Dubai on a night flight.
Some passengers will be flown from Dubai to Lahore via flight PK-204 tonight, while others will be accommodated on a PIA flight from Sharjah to Multan.
The airline assures that passenger safety remains a top priority, and efforts are underway to manage the situation efficiently.
