The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the ongoing registration of IP addresses and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to ensure uninterrupted internet access across the country.
The initiative is available for freelancers, businesses, and foreign embassies operating within Pakistan.
The PTA clarified that VPN registration will help users maintain smooth internet services and secure connectivity. Foreign missions have been urged to register their VPNs with the PTA immediately to avoid any disruption.
The registration process, which is free of charge, is expected to be completed within two to three days following the verification of the internet service provider. However, for users requiring more than five IP addresses, an IP whitelisting fee will apply.
Additionally, servers located abroad but catering to users within Pakistan are also required to be registered under this program.
The PTA aims to streamline internet usage while ensuring compliance with national regulations and protecting users from potential cybersecurity threats.
