Jamiat Ulema Islam (F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday condemned the recent Israeli attack that led to the martyrdom of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, describing the act as a cowardly move and an act of terrorism.
In a statement released to the media, Fazlur Rehman expressed his outrage over the killing of Nasrallah, asserting that the leader's life was marked by unwavering resistance against Israeli aggression.
“Hassan Nasrallah's whole life has been a testament to the struggle against Israel. We strongly condemn his killing in the Israeli attack,” he stated.
The JUI-F chief that the martyrdom of Nasrallah would serve to strengthen the resolve of those opposing Israeli policies, declaring, “His martyrdom has increased the stigmatisation of Zionism.”
He urged the international community to recognize the implications of such actions on the ongoing conflict in the region.
The Israeli airstrikes targeted the southern area of Beirut on Friday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to several others.
While the Israeli military claimed responsibility for the attack, Hezbollah has confirmed the martyrdom of their leader, escalating tensions in an already volatile region.
