Lieutenant General Asim Malik has been appointed as the new Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) — the country’s top spy agency.
Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik will assume his new responsibilities on September 30.
He is currently serving as the Adjutant General at GHQ.

Lt Gen Malik has previously commanded the Infantry Division in Balochistan and the Infantry Brigade in Waziristan. He has also received the Sword of Honor during his course.
Additionally, he has served as the Chief Instructor at the National Defense University (NDU) and as an instructor at the Command and Staff College in Quetta.
Lt Gen Asim is a graduate of Fort Leavenworth and the Royal College of Defense Studies.
Lieutenant General Asim has also served in the Military Operations Directorate in the past.
