In an unprecedented incident, a student's position in the intermediate exams 2024 has undergone a surprise change after a recount of his marks.
Afaq Khalid, a student from a private college, initially scored 1119 marks in the pre-medical group. However, upon suspicion, he applied for a recount through the Lahore board, resulting in an increase of 30 marks, taking his total to 1149.
This increase in marks pushed Afaq Khalid up to the second position in the pre-medical group.
The Lahore board issued a revised result card to the student, confirming his new position. The board has also launched an investigation against those responsible for the checking and counting processes of the examinations.
The controller of examinations at the Lahore board said the board will issue the student's latest position. Zahid Mian further claimed that they will also hold an event to celebrate Afaq's second position. Taking serious note of the situation, he promised strict action against those responsible for any errors in the initial checking and counting of marks.
