Train services from Quetta to other parts of the country remain suspended for the 21st consecutive day.
Trains running from Quetta to major cities like Peshawar and Karachi have also been halted as construction on a vital bridge continues.
According to the Railway administration, 40% of the restoration work on the bridge, which was destroyed in a terrorist attack in August, has been completed. The bridge is expected to be fully operational by October 15. Officials added that the repair work is progressing in two shifts on the instructions of the chief executive officer of Pakistan Railways.
Despite limited resources, Pakistan Railways is carrying out the restoration process using its own funds. Officials emphasized that once the bridge passes security clearance, rail connectivity for Balochistan will be restored immediately.
On August 26, terrorists launched coordinated attacks on civilians and government properties across several districts in Balochistan. Among the damaged infrastructure was a British-era bridge situated between the Kolpur and Dozan railway stations in Bolan.
Following the explosion, train operations between Quetta and Sibi were suspended, disrupting key services such as the Jaffar Express, Bolan Mail, and Chaman Passenger train.
