Two terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Dera Ghazi Khan's Quetta Road on Friday.
According to CTD officials, the intelligence operation was launched to apprehend terrorists in the area when the suspects opened fire on the law enforcement team. In the ensuing gunfight, two terrorists were shot dead, and two others managed to flee. The authorities recovered hand grenades, rifles, ammunition, and explosive materials from the scene.
A search operation is currently underway to capture the remaining terrorists who managed to flee the scene. CTD teams have blockaded Quetta Road and surrounding highways as part of their efforts to prevent the escape of any accomplices.
The process of identifying the deceased terrorists is ongoing, and CTD officials are working to gather more intelligence on the group's activities in the region. A spokesman said the terrorists had planned attacks on sensitive installations.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to continue the crackdown on terrorist networks operating in the area to ensure public safety.
