Bollywood actress Malaika Arora has returned home after performing the last rites of her father, Anil Mehta, who tragically died by suicide on September 11.
According to Pinkvilla, Malaika, accompanied by her sister Amrita Arora, attended their father’s funeral earlier this week. The ceremony was marked by the presence of close family members and several notable figures from the Bollywood industry.
Malaika’s ex-husband, actor and producer Arbaaz Khan, along with his wife Sshura Khan, were among the first to arrive at the residence to offer their condolences. Members of the Khan family, including Salim Khan, his wife Salma Khan, and their son Sohail Khan, were also in attendance.
However, Salman Khan was notably absent. According to reports, the actor is currently occupied with the shooting of his upcoming film Sikander alongside Rashmika Mandanna.
At the funeral, Malaika’s son, Arhaan Khan, was seen offering emotional support to his grieving mother and grandmother, Joyce.
Malaika’s former partner actor Arjun Kapoor also stood by her during this difficult time, extending his unwavering support. Other Bollywood celebrities who attended the ceremony included Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Shibani Dandekar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Kim Sharma.
The family has yet to issue an official statement regarding Anil Mehta's passing.
