Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has stated that the party does not seek support from the establishment at the political level.
Speaking on Samaa TV program “Nadeem Malik Live,” he discussed recent developments, including his meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The PTI leader clarified that the meeting, facilitated by a government organization, was held voluntarily to discuss peace and harmony, emphasizing that Gandapur was neither coerced nor mistreated.
Raja condemned the recent police action in the Parliament, labeling it as an attack and urging for accountability for those responsible. He also addressed concerns about PTI's relationship with the establishment, firmly denying any attempts by the party to secure its backing.
He emphasized that PTI, which governs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, maintains communication with institutions but operates independently in the political arena.
Furthermore, Raja acknowledged the presence of "black sheep" in journalism, criticizing the spread of misinformation, particularly regarding Gandapur's statements about journalists, which he promised would soon be clarified.
He also mentioned that the establishment had asked not to hold public rally on August 22 due to potential security risks, reflecting ongoing communication between the provincial government and relevant institutions.
