Al-Noor Special Children School (ANSCS) in Okara Cantonment continues to make strides in providing education and support to children with disabilities. Established in September 2014, the school has grown from its initial 17 students to currently serving 172 children across four disability categories.
The school, which moved to its present campus on November 25, 2016, was designed to accommodate 200 students. It currently educates 62 hearing-impaired children, 11 visually impaired children, 62 intellectually disabled children, and 37 physically disabled children.
ANSCS has successfully conducted cochlear implant surgeries for over 11 children, with a total cost of 23.1 million rupees (2.1 million rupees per child). These children are now under the care of the school, receiving daily speech therapy.
The school has identified an additional 8 children who will receive cochlear implant devices following hearing tests. This initiative, along with the school's operations, is made possible through donations from civil society and Pakistan Army contributors.
ANSCS Okara continues its efforts to transform the lives of special children, providing them with educational opportunities and necessary medical interventions.
