Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti delivered a passionate speech at a recent ceremony celebrating the Benazir Scholarships Program, where he lauded the achievements of students who received scholarships.
In his address, Bugti congratulated the scholarship recipients and emphasized the importance of education in empowering the youth of Balochistan. "The sapling someone planted before us, today we have successfully cultivated it," Bugti remarked.
He acknowledged the crucial role played by the provincial chief secretary in the completion of the scholarship initiative, highlighting the program’s goal to educate and motivate deserving students from remote areas of the province.
Bugti stressed that these scholarships are designed to support students from diverse backgrounds, including minorities and transgender individuals, ensuring inclusivity.
He also addressed the challenges faced by the youth of Quetta, vowing to focus on skill development and job creation, despite the government’s limited capacity to provide employment for everyone. "The government cannot provide employment to everyone, but we will make the youth skilled."
He pledged to engage with the dejected youth and work towards alleviating their grievances, noting, "We want to bring the youth angry because of bad governance closer." He requested youths not to go against the state because of bad governance. He stressed that he still insisted jobs will not be sold, adding that whoever obtains high marks in matriculation, intermediate and bachelors will get a job on merit.
In his speech, Bugti condemned the misuse of social media to incite violence and expressed a strong stance against attempts to destabilize Pakistan. "Those misleading the youth want to disintegrate the country. A law student was lured into becoming a suicide bomber through the internet," he claimed.
Bugti concluded with a resolute affirmation of his dedication to the well-being of Balochistan's youth, reaffirming his commitment to guiding them towards a prosperous future despite the challenges facing the province.
