The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted one of the most extensive counterterror operations in the West Bank in recent months, targeting militant activities in Jenin, Tulkarem, and surrounding areas, the military reported on Wednesday morning.
The coordinated operation, which involved the Israel Border Police, the Israel Security Agency (ISA), and hundreds of IDF troops with extensive air support, was launched in response to the attempted suicide bombing attack in Tel Aviv on August 18.
In Jenin, the Israel Air Force (IAF) conducted an aerial strike, eliminating three armed Palestinians The operation also led to the elimination of two additional Palestinians, the detention of several wanted suspects, and the confiscation of military equipment, weapons, and ammunition.
A spokesman for the Red Crescent confirmed that 10 Palestinians were killed and 15 others wounded during the operation. Additionally, Israeli media reported that the IDF carried out operations at the Ibn Sina Hospital.
Earlier in Tulkarem, the IDF killed five terrorists in a drone strike on a terror operations room in the Nur al-Shams refugee camp on Monday. Among the deceased was a terrorist recently released in the November 2023 hostage deal.
Throughout a 14-hour operation in Tulkarem in late August, three more terrorists were killed by the Israeli air force, and IDF forces destroyed laboratories producing explosives. Soldiers from the Duvdevan unit also demolished the apartment of a wanted individual while arresting another suspect. The IDF further destroyed explosives planted along the side of the road during this operation.
The IDF has emphasized that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks and prevent further attacks on Israeli civilians and security forces.
