Several tragic road accidents occurred across Punjab on Friday, resulting in multiple fatalities and serious injuries, according to rescue officials.
In Multan, a collision between a truck and a trailer near the Shah Rukn Alam Interchange led to the deaths of three individuals, while five others were injured.
Rescue teams promptly responded to the scene, providing first aid before transporting the injured to Nishtar Hospital for further treatment. The exact cause of the collision is still under investigation.
In a separate incident in Gujrat, a bus collided with a van near Kunjah, leading to the deaths of two individuals, including a 10-year-old girl named Minahil and a 65-year-old man named Ashraf.
Rescue officials indicated that speeding was a likely cause of the crash. The bodies have been shifted to a nearby hospital as authorities continue to investigate the incident.
Kasur also witnessed a tragic accident when a car overturned near the suburb of Rao Khanwala. The accident, which occurred due to the driver falling asleep at the wheel, claimed the life of two-year-old Hasan Shahbaz. The child’s parents, 34-year-old Zulfiqar and 30-year-old Ayesha of Raiwand, were seriously injured and have been transferred to Lahore in critical condition.
The family was en route to Kasur when the accident occurred.
In Jhelum, a young motorcyclist lost his life after being struck by a car on Kantreli Road. The accident was reportedly caused by the car driver's negligence and excessive speed. Rescue teams have taken the body into custody and shifted it to the civil hospital for further procedures.
