At least 11 police personnel were martyred in an attack on two police vehicles by robbers in Rahim Yar Khan’s Tehsil Sadiqabad on Thursday.
The police personnel were returning from duty in the Fatehpur Basti Salman area when their vehicles were ambushed. According to sources, there were over 15 police officers in the two vehicles, making it a massive targeted attack.
District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Ahmad confirmed the incident, stating that the robbers attacked when one of the police mobiles broke down near Fatehpur.
He added that a team from across the district has been dispatched to the site to assist in the investigation.
The attack has led to multiple casualties and injuries among the officers. A district-wide team has been dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and gather further details.
The bodies of the brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the attack were transported to Sheikh Zayed Hospital. To ensure prompt medical attention, the hospital administration canceled the leave of doctors and paramedical staff, imposing an emergency.
According to the police spokesman, two police vehicles were returning from their weekly duty in the Kacha area when one of them suddenly broke down. Taking advantage of the situation, the attackers launched a rocket assault on the stranded vehicle.
