Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has been actively engaged in relief operations across the flood-affected regions of Sindh, Balochistan, and the northern areas, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Chitral.
Over the past two days, Alkhidmat volunteers have successfully rescued 404 individuals stranded by the recent floods and heavy rains.
In the wake of the devastating rainfall and subsequent flooding, the Alkhidmat Foundation has provided essential supplies, including tents, ready-to-eat meals, tarpaulins, and other crucial items, to those in need. Additionally, medical camps have been set up to offer healthcare services and prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases, with mobile health units being deployed to ensure prompt medical assistance.
Ejaz Ullah Khan, Vice President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, briefed the Central Board of Management on the ongoing relief efforts. He highlighted that the Alkhidmat Foundation’s volunteers have been instrumental in rescuing citizens trapped in floodwaters and transporting them to safety. The provision of food packages, prepared meals, tarpaulins, and other relief supplies continues relentlessly.
In a detailed assessment meeting, Dr. Hafeez Ur Rahman, President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, noted that flood emergency centers at the central, regional, and local levels have been put on high alert to manage the ongoing crisis. Alkhidmat’s disaster management teams are in continuous contact with the National Disaster Management Authority and other relevant agencies to coordinate effective relief measures.
To date, rescue operations have reached several affected areas, including Bamburet, Golain, and Mori Bala in Chitral, Astor in Gilgit-Baltistan, Ziarat and Qilla Saifullah in Balochistan, and Sakrand in Sindh. The Alkhidmat Foundation remains committed to serving humanity during these challenging times, with ongoing efforts to address the immediate needs of flood-affected communities and mitigate the impact of the disaster.
