PDMA has issued a flood warning that most of Punjab's districts most likely see monsoon rain in next 24 hours and flash floods are expected in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur divisions.
In 2024, 84 civilians were lost their lives due to monsoon havoc, 224 injured and 245 houses affected.
The deaths were caused by lightning, electrocution, the collapse of mud houses and dilapidated buildings.
44 livestock have also died due to monsoon rains. 100 houses destroyed, 145 were partially affected.
PDMA director general said financial help is being offered to the afflicted families according to government policy and ‘best medical’ facilities are offered to the injured.
According to the spokesperson PDMA, there is a low-level flood in Tarbela, Kalabagh and Chashma on the Indus River, as well as significant flooding in Tunsa. Water flow in Chenab Ravi, Sutlej and Jhelum rivers is at normal levels.
The water level in Mangla dam is 70 percent, in Tarbela it is 99 percent.
Flow of water is normal even in Dera Ghazi Khan Rudkohis. Narowal Nala Basantar has low-level flood situation.
The current water level in Indian dams on the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers has reached 54%, according to the PDMA.
