Customs officials at Karachi Airport have successfully intercepted a large drug smuggling attempt as heroin valued at more than Rs40m was recovered from a passenger bound for Malaysia.
The passenger, identified as Usman, had concealed the heroin in secret compartments within his suitcase.
During a routine search, customs officials discovered the hidden drugs, effectively thwarting the smuggling attempt.
The accused, who was planning to travel with Batak Air, has been arrested, and further legal action is underway.
Peshawar Airport raid
In separate raid, Airport Security Force (ASF) raided at Peshawar Airport and recovered 978 grams of ice heroin from a passenger bound to travel to Qatar capital Doha.
The recovered heroin is worth more than Rs15 million. Umar, the passenger, had hidden the drugs in the bag. The accused was handed over to the ANF authorities along with the exported drugs.
