A system of heavy rains has moved out of Karachi, but light rain is expected throughout the day today as the Meteorological Department reports that the monsoon rain has now shifted towards Central Sindh and Balochistan.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain may continue throughout the day in the city. The current temperature is recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, with winds at 11 km/h and 90% humidity.
Rain damages properties in interior Sindh
An hour of rain in Sehwan Sharif disrupted the city, with low-lying areas submerged. Additionally, over 35 villages in Tehsil Sehwan were flooded due to the rising water levels of the Indus River, forcing residents to travel by boat.
Intermittent rains in various areas of Sukkur over the past 24 hours have caused waterlogging in commercial areas including Ghanta Ghar, Old Sukkur, Jail Road, and Hussaini Road wherein more than 100 feeders have also tripped.
Tangwani rain
The rain has scorched the land and flooded the low-lying areas.
Five houses have collapsed due to 36 hours of intermittent rain. In the Jafarabad area of Tangwani, two people were injured when a house collapsed.
In Nowshahro Feroze, Moro, Mathani, Padaidan, and Darya Khan Murri Pahl, 10 hours of continuous rain has caused widespread destruction, and electricity outages have been reported.
After a brief pause, stormy rain resumed in Mehrabpur.
In Khairpur Nathan Shah, it has been raining for six hours, and the city and its surroundings are without electricity. The alternating heavy and light rain has created severe flooding.
In Kandiyaro, another house has collapsed in the nearby village of Khanawahan due to the continuous rain.
