Renowned writer and poet Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is contemplating leaving Pakistan following a distressing video leak scandal.
In a recent television interview, Qamar candidly spoke about the emotional and psychological turmoil he is enduring after his abduction and the subsequent viral dissemination of a private video.
The writer of the acclaimed drama serial Mere Paas Tum Ho expressed his profound love for Pakistan but admitted that recent events have led him to question his future in the country.
"I have always loved Pakistan deeply, but these recent developments have shaken my faith in my place here," Qamar said, his voice laden with emotion.
He further stated, "I never imagined I would contemplate leaving my homeland. Yet, I find myself grappling with this painful consideration."
Qamar revealed that he is fervently praying for the strength to remain connected to his country, acknowledging the difficulty of living without the land he holds dear.
"I pray to Allah for the fortitude to endure this situation, as I cannot envision a life away from this soil," he added.
The writer also discussed his anticipation for the court's decision regarding the ongoing case related to the scandal. "I am waiting for the verdict and will strive to ensure that those responsible face justice, irrespective of where that pursuit may lead me," Qamar stated. He emphasized his commitment to seeing justice served and his readiness to take necessary actions to address the wrongdoers.
When asked if he would alter any aspect of his life, Qamar reflected on his experiences and noted, "I would choose to live in an environment where mutual respect is a given. This notion is new to me and something I had not previously contemplated. Despite all that Allah has bestowed upon me, I find myself yearning for a place where respect prevails."
