The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released its latest Hydrological Outlook, warning of potential flooding and low water flow in various regions across Pakistan.
According to the report, low water flow is expected in Mangla Dam, a critical reservoir for the country. The NDMA has also highlighted the possibility of low to medium water flow levels in the Chenab River at key locations such as Marala, Khanki, and Qadirabad.
Additionally, there is a risk of a moderate flood passing through the Pir Panjal range canals, Kabul River, and its tributaries.
The NDMA has cautioned that floodwater could pass through the Kalabagh and Chashma areas, extending to the Taunsa and Guddu barrages. This situation poses a moderate flood risk in the Dera Ghazi Khan Division, as well as in the Zhob, Sibbi, and Kalat divisions.

The report also indicates a risk of flooding in the river channels of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as the Ravi and Chenab rivers, particularly in the Zhob, Sibbi, Nasirabad, and Kalat divisions. Residents of the plains adjacent to Chashma, Taunsa, and Guddu are especially vulnerable to the potential flood rails.
In response to these warnings, the NDMA has instructed all departments concerned to remain vigilant and implement safety measures to protect the public. Authorities are urged to monitor water levels closely and take proactive steps to mitigate the impact of potential floods on vulnerable communities.
As the monsoon season continues, the NDMA's outlook serves as a critical reminder for residents and officials alike to stay alert and prepared for any adverse weather-related events.
