Cambridge University has announced the results of the A and O Levels examinations in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone for students across the country.
Globally, there were over 1.6 million entries for Cambridge international exams in June – a 9% increase on last year.
According to a spokesperson, a total of 683 schools of Pakistan participated in the exams this year.
Over 226,000 students applied for the O Levels exams, while more than 125,000 students applied for A Levels. Of these, over 100,000 students appeared for both the exams, showcasing the widespread participation in these globally recognized qualifications.
For O Levels, Pakistan Studies, Islamiat, Mathematics, English, and Urdu emerged as the most popular subjects among students. In the A Levels, subjects like Business, Computer Science, Physics, and Mathematics emerged as favourites, as highlighted by the spokesperson.
The country director for Cambridge in Pakistan, Uzma Yousuf, commended the students for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing that the exams were conducted in a safe environment. "Congratulations to all the students for their hard work and perseverance in these challenging times," Yusuf stated.
According to Cambridge University, all results will be released at Direct regardless of whether candidates sat their exams or followed the portfolio of evidence route.
Across its global exam series in May and June, Cambridge received more than 1.9 million entries for qualifications, including Cambridge Checkpoint (for students aged five to 14), IGCSE, International AS & A Level and the International Project Qualification – an increase of 10% on last year.
